Chief Andy Thomas
I am Seenupin, my English name is Andy Thomas, I am the Hereditary and working Chief of the Esquimalt Nation.
I have been in this position since 1972. All through these years I have represented my Nation working with a lot of organizations, the First Nations of South Island Tribal Council on the Executive and as the land claims chairman, and wrote a paper on our Treaty called "The Spirit and Intent of our Douglas Treaty."
I have been involved with the Union of BC Indian Chiefs, the Interim Council of Chiefs for the National Indian Brotherhood in the formation and structure of what is now the Assembly of First Nations, and now with my good friend Ian Hinksman to build a home for BCANDS on our lands.
