Annual General Meeting 2006

President

Mike Touchie

Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to this year’s Annual General Meeting. I’m glad to see that everyone has arrived safe and sound.

The last year has been a challenge to say the least; I would first of all like to say thank-you to our staff for their dedication to B.C.A.N.D.S.

I would like to at this time to say thank-you to our funders, Indian & Northern Affairs Canada, Health Canada, Provincial Health Service Authority, and Ministry of Children and Families for their support.

This year as all years, we have board positions that we will be vacant and up for elections. You must be a member in good standing to run for a position on the board and it is preferred that you have board experience as it is a lot of responsibility to undertake.

As I mentioned in the newsletter, I will not be running for another term on the board. I would like to say thank-you to the members for electing me to sit on the board for the last sixteen years. It has been a learning experience. Thank-you to all the past and present board members for their dedication and also to their families for supporting them, because if it wasn’t for this board of directors and staff there would not be a society to address our needs on disabilities in our communities. We still have a long way to go, but we are getting there.

Respectfully,

Mike Touchie
